Quantum Risk Calculator
Assess how at-risk your cryptographic systems are to future quantum computers. Based on the Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) threat model.
1. Which algorithm are you using?
This is the key exchange or signature algorithm in your system: not the symmetric cipher.
2. How long must this data stay secret?
Adversaries may be harvesting encrypted data now to decrypt later with a quantum computer.
3. How sensitive is this data?
Higher sensitivity means the cost of a future breach is higher.
About Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL)
Nation-state adversaries are recording encrypted traffic today, with the intent to decrypt it once a cryptographically relevant quantum computer exists. NIST estimates this could happen between 2030 and 2035. Any data that must remain confidential beyond that window is at risk today.
